My philosophy in offering professional servicies is to design and develop systems which serve the needs of their users in the most simple and effective way, without employing technology for the sake of it, but only in the measure in which it is useful to reach the tasks.Some of the servicies i’m offering:

• Organizing, coordinating and supporting software development groups, helping them choose architectures and tools, giving support t the developers through specific knowledge and mentoring activites.
• Analyze business requirements producing specifications which can be both understandable by the management and useful for the project development.
• Integrating information systems, specially whenever it is necessary to make etherogeneus systems coexhist and work together.
• Design and development of web-based application and services.
• Development and setup of systems based on the Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL databases

Some of the past work I’ve done:

• Design and development of a web based invoicing application, using the Ruby on Rails framework, backed by a MySQL database. Making full use of the Ajax capabilities of recent browsers the application aims to be simple and effective. At Fatturalo.com it’s not yet open to the public.
• Integrating AxiomaModa (link) with a logistics software. I designed the interaction between the two applications and realized the integration protocol specification which has been used by the logistics software developers and by myself. I did the development of the data transmission and loading software (on the AxiomaModa side) using PL/SQL, SQLLoader and Java.
• Analisys of the product development workflow of SISAS s.r.l. with the task of reaching a better information confidentiality and security. SISAS s.r.l. is one of the key players on the European market for the traffic management solutions.
• Implementation of a COM component to automate the connection between a business management software and the services provided by the public agency ACI and the Terrestrial Transportation Department (of the Italian transportation ministry). Those services automated access to the public vehicle register (PRA). The component interfaces with the servicies both emulating a user with a web browser and directly using an XML based protocol, while offering a common interface to the host application. This has been realized using python.

Prices & Quotes:

It is not always simple to give an estimate of the time neeeded to complete a project (and so of its costs), I usually try to evaulate the work which needs to be done together with the client, defining the task in its width and reach. Sometimes (if you have a defined RFP or requirements document) I can do a fixed price bid.
